Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster anthology returns with a chilling new chapter centered on Ed Gein, the Wisconsin killer whose crimes inspired horror classics like Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' and starring Charlie Hunnam, the series premieres Oct. 3 on Netflix. It explores how Gein, a seemingly quiet recluse in 1950s rural Wisconsin, descended into grave robbing and multiple murders, cementing his place as one of history’s most infamous criminals.

'Monster: The Ed Gein Story' tells the story of how one simple man in Plainfield, Wisconsin, became history’s most singular ghoul," Netflix teased. "He revealed to the world the most horrific truth of all — that monsters aren’t born, they’re made ... by us."
The anthology first launched in 2022 with 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story', which earned six Emmy nominations and a win for Niecy Nash. Its follow-up, 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story', received 11 nominations and sparked debate over its depiction of the brothers.
A fourth installment is already in the works, focusing on Lizzie Borden — the young woman accused of axing her parents to death — with Ella Beatty set to lead.
